Reporting to the CIO, this role is a new senior leadership role, responsible for building and managing a global, top-notch software and data engineering team and function.  As the Senior Vice President IT, Software and Data Engineering you will provide leadership, vision and direction to software and data engineering teams to help GXO build strong technology capabilities to maintain and enhance leadership position in the industry. This position will lead the data and software engineering organization to successful delivery of key business outcomes that are critical to business success.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Build strong working relationships with business leaders to ensure software engineering teams meet expectations and contribute to achievement of business goals in the areas of data, BI and analytics primarily
  • Collaborate with IT and business leaders to develop short and long-term strategic plans related to data and key core, reusable components of customer and enterprise software and integration/middleware solutions
  • Establish the enterprise architectures standards around application, platforms, integration, and data that helps reduce disparate fragmented application landscape, reduce legacy tech debt, and move to modern cloud-based capabilities
  • Establish robust software development, QA testing, release management and deployment prosses and tooling standards that should be used across the organization in various IT functions
  • Responsible for partnering and setting direction with all business units to provide support on all significant accounting policies and procedures
  • Champion the development, implementation and maintenance of efficient and effective internal controls and processes that ensure proper accounting and reporting, while minimizing risk, enhancing operational performance in compliance with Sarbanes- Oxley
  • Provide financial support and partner with operational leaders, legal, information technology, marketing, and human resources organizations
  • Work with information technology to ensure that company has the appropriate IT infrastructure to meet its accounting, financial reporting and associated internal control requirements effectively and efficiently

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or related field
  • Previous experience where remit spans beyond local borders, within a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Up to 15 years of experience in managing large scale enterprise applications (ERP/Oracle/SAP including SAP S4 HANA and IBP applications desired) in global organizations
  • Experience building, operationalizing, and enhancing central Enterprise functions is required
  • 10+ years working in a global company
  • 10+ years of oversight of a leading centralized and matrixed enterprise teams
  • All the above gained through in-house rather than consulting roles
  • Experience driving wide scoping change initiatives
  • Strong experience in driving and establishing agile based software development delivery
  • Good knowledge and experience of cloud-based technologies and legacy and infrastructure transformation to cloud
  • Manage teams of 100+ associates and skilled at developing talent at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage multiple vendors
  • Capacity to improve collaborators skills and to develop them, ensuring their motivation and enhancement
  • Ability to drive the team capacity and the agenda to deliver the proper IT solutions on time with high level of quality and performance
