We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President, Pricing and Head of Deal Desk to lead our pricing, deal desk operations and support our sales team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for optimizing our deal processes, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring the smooth execution of complex deals. As the Head of Deal Desk, you will work closely with the sales, solutions, finance, legal, operations, engineering, and IT teams to drive deal efficiency and maximize revenue growth aligned with GXO’s business goals and market conditions. and deal desk operations. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Develop and implement deal structures and pricing strategies that align with company goals and market conditions
- Provide end-to end- support on deal-related matters, including pricing models, approval process and post-sales support processes
- Continuously improve pricing and deal desk processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time and ensure compliance with our policies.
- Identify and mitigate material risks associated with complex deals
- Develop, document, and enforce deal pricing requirements to maintain consistency and profitability across verticals
- Partner with sales team to ensure adherence to pricing guidelines and provide guidance on exceptional cases
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track deal performance, identify trends, and provide insights to senior management
- Lead, mentor and develop our pricing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Act as a trusted advisor to sales leadership, providing insights on customer expectations and negotiating the best pricing structures for deals
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in pricing, deal desk, sales operations, or a related role.
- 3-5 years in a leadership role
- Logistics or related industry experience
- Proven track record of leading pricing strategy and deal desk operations at an executive level, delivering results in revenue optimization and risk mitigation
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and communicate clearly with senior leadership teams
- Experience with pricing automation tools, analytics platforms and reporting software
- Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce), pricing tools and advanced Excel functions
It’d be great if you also have:
- MBA or other advanced degree
- Ability to manage complex deals simultaneously while ensuring attention to detail and meeting deadlines
