Here at GXO, we are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias, to join our coldstore site in Hull. You’ll be responsible for the upkeep of the site while doing preventative maintenance and reactive work when needed.

 

You will be joining us on a full time, permanent basis. You'll be working Monday to Friday with the usual core hours of 07:00 -15:00 or 08:00 – 16:00. However, during our peak season (Mid-June – last week of August), flexibility in your working hours will be required, as the shift pattern will be, 4 on 2 off, rotating over days and nights, with the hours of  06:00 – 18:00 and 18:00 – 06:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Manage maintenance projects including quotations, capital applications, cost control, labour scheduling and contractor control
  • Ensure compliance with L8 Controls of Legionella
  • Understand and keep up to date with statutory requirements and codes of practices whether issued through enforcing authorities or company policy
  • Through best practice and continuous improvement techniques, monitor and control utility consumption

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Formal electrically biased engineering qualification
  • Experience working in a similar facilities or engineering environment would be advantageous, but we will consider those from other backgrounds
  • Ability to flex with an ever-changing environment, both where the job is impacted and in attitude
  • A team player with a good level of IT skills
