Class 1 Driver

Are you an experienced Class 1 (C+E) Driver looking for consistent night work and an excellent work–life balance? We’re seeking professional, reliable drivers to join our team, carrying out night shunting duties across the Yorkshire area on our Verallia contract in Leeds.

 

Verallia is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of high‑quality glass packaging, producing bottles and jars for major food and beverage brands. They are recognised for their commitment to sustainability, creating 100% recyclable glass packaging and supporting customers across the UK and Europe.

 

This is a full‑time, permanent night‑shift position, working on a 4 on 4 off rota, covering the hours 18:00–06:00.

 What you will do on a typical day:

 

  • Safely transporting and handling glass products within the shunting operation
  • Securing all loads correctly and completing thorough pre‑ and post‑shift vehicle checks
  • Following all company procedures and health & safety guidelines
  • Providing excellent customer service at all delivery and collection points
  • Accurately completing and promptly submitting all required documentation

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • A valid Class 1 Driving license, CPC and Digi tacho card
  • No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (no TT, IN, DD, DR, or DG endorsements)
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to driving regulations
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work on your initiative
