Warehouse Operations Manager

Here at GXO, we’re currently looking for a Warehouse Operations Manager to support the Screwfix Distribution Centre, in Lichfield.  This is an exciting opportunity where you’ll play a critical role in shaping the culture, performance and future growth of the site supporting a major retail customer. Working closely with the General Manager, you’ll help establish robust operational processes, build and develop high‑performing teams, and ensure the site delivers against service, cost and quality expectations from day one and beyond.

 

This is a full time, permanent position, where you’ll be working Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Some flexibility is required; this is logistics after all!

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £61,000 per annum DOE and receive 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you'll do on a typical day:

 

  • Reporting to the General Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the management of a team of 5; including Shift Operations Managers, Stock and System Manager and Training Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring the site works within legislative requirements, taking account of health & safety at all times.
  • Responsible for ensuring all working procedures are clearly defined and cascaded, with regular reviews to ensure effectiveness.
  • Must be proactive in seeking improvements in process/methods of operating.
  • Responsible for the achievement of Key Performance Indicators and delivering a high level of on time, on cost, to a high customer service standard.
  • Responsible for always ensuring excellent working relationships with the Customer stakeholders and being aware of their business needs and objectives.

•    Must have proven senior operations management experience in a high-volume service driven operation.

•    Strong budgetary experience – including formulation and analysis.

•    Strong, proven project and change management with quantifiable results.
