Assistant Accountant

Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join our team in Knowsley. The Assistant Accountant is responsible for assisting and supporting the Finance Manager and Site Manager to drive best practices in financial management within the organisation to maintain control and maximize efficiency and growth.
This is a part-time, permanent position working 3 days per week, Monday to Wednesday, 9am to 5pm (Can be flexible on start & finish times)

We’re looking to offer a salary of £21,000 per annum, and 33 days annual leave (Pro Rata for Part-time). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- To manage the financial reporting of the site weekly costings to GXO and the customer reviewing in respect of accuracy and performance, versus budget or forecast
- To provide appropriate levels of support and challenge to the Operational Management team
- To challenge all site discretionary spend
- Support with continuous improvement cost/benefit analysis and tracking
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Fully / Part AAT qualified or studying towards a professional accountancy qualification.
- Knowledge of financial management systems & excellent Excel skills
- Proven track record in successfully establishing and maintaining effective business relationships with both internal and external customers
