Transport Planning Manager

Dedicated to the Matalan operation at Knowsley, Liverpool, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end planning and the transport network including the efficient planning of routes, trunks and collections and backhaul.

 

This is a full-time, 6 month fixed term contract role. The working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00, with some flexibility required. This is logistics after all!

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £55,000 per annum depending upon experience. What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Provide, build and implement optimal and seasonal transport network plans across all customer sites, capturing all customer and operational requirements
  • Manage and own a central database of all customers, customer locations and associated information to support network planning (delivery windows/restrictions, vehicle restrictions, delivery point requirements etc)
  • Client forecast compiling and subsequently sharing in a concise format to relevant operations
  • Support with plan vs actual analysis for routes, collections, trunks, client volumes and other metrics to continually improve operations

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Experience in transport/transport network modelling and planning experience is essential
  • Expert and in depth Paragon experience is essential
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is essential
  • Capable of working under pressure with tight timescales
