Here at GXO, we are looking for a Shift Engineer to join our team on our multi-temperature, Coldstore site in Lowestoft. You will be responsible for the upkeep of the site while doing preventative maintenance and reactive work when needed.
You will join us on a 9-month fixed-term contract, working Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 however, we will need some flexibility during our peak season which is June – August, this is logistics after all!

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Working as part of a team you’ll provide both preventative and reactive engineering support to our busy site
- Investigating site breakdowns, recommending, and carrying out remedial actions
- Identifying the needs for modifications to engineering and carrying out all assigned continuous improvement work while meeting agreed timescales to a high standard
- Notifying the Engineering Management of spares which are necessary to maintain plant and equipment is in safe working order
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Good working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics would be an advantage
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in engineering discipline
- 17th / 18th edition
- Time Served Engineer in either mechanical, electrical or refrigeration
- Knowledge of industrial refrigeration would be an advantage
- Knowledge of working with 400v
- C&G 2391 would be an advantage
