Head of Outbound Operations

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Head of Outbound Operations, you will pay a pivotal role in ensuring that our operational performance, efficiency, and safety standards are delivered to the highest level at our Primark site in Lutterworth. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll lead the outbound function, optimise our processes, and champion culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 

This is a full-time, permanent role. You will be working Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00. However, flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £60,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Lead, coach and develop operational teams to achieve quality, compliance and performance targets
  • Promote a culture of hazard reporting, safe equipment use, and workplace organisation using 6S principles
  • Drive Lea, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance operational performance
  • Lead the adoption of workflow automation, dashboards and digital tools
  • Support customer review meetings and operational reviews with the General Manager
  • Set SMART objectives, conduct regular reviews, and drive succession planning

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Proven experience in a similar operational leadership role, including P&L responsibility
  • Successful track record of driving customer satisfaction and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Extensive management experience in a diverse eCommerce environment (automation desirable)
  • High analytical capability: BI tool knowledge is a distinct advantage
  • Strong understanding of QHSE requirements and standards
  • Experience leading teams through significant change and improvement programmes
