Inventory First Line Manager (Nights)

Here at GXO, we’re seeking an Inventory First Line Manager to join our Primark Lutterworth site. You’ll take charge of day-to-day inventory operations on shift, ensuring stock integrity, process compliance, and strong team performance. Reporting to the Inventory Manager, you’ll be the first point of escalation, balancing hands-on operational control with people leadership and continuous improvement.

 

This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work on a ‘4 on 4 off’ basis, 18:00 till 06:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £39,000 per annum, and 20 days annual leave (including bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate an inventory team to deliver daily operational targets
  • Control stock accuracy through goods-in, out-away, counts, adjustments, and reconciliations
  • Plan and manage cycle counts, stock checks, and stocktakes, resolving variances effectively
  • Monitor inventory KPIs, investigate discrepancies, and drive corrective actions
  • Act as the first escalation point, working closely with operations and other teams to protect service and cost

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Strong understanding of inventory and stock control processes within a warehouse environment
  • Confident communicator with the ability to lead and influence large teams
  • Highly organised with excellent numeracy and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills, including WMS experience and Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Flexible, resilient, and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced operation
