HR Advisor

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a full-time, permanent HR Advisor to join us on our Greene King contract based in Trafford Park, Manchester. You’ll be supporting site operations by providing a proactive, professional, and people-focused HR service across the Greene King contract. You’ll act as the first point of contact for all HR matters on site, working in close partnership with the HR Manager and taking the lead on ER casework, recruitment, legal compliance, employee engagement, D&I initiatives, and the development of site capability through coaching and training. This role involves strong collaboration with operational leaders, Trade Union representatives, and central HR functions to ensure alignment with GXO’s HR strategy and policies.

 

Please note that this role is initially based at Trafford Park but be aware that our site will be moving to Middleton in early 2026

 

This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £32,000.00 per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Be the first point of contact and lead all employee relations casework including disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, investigations, absence management, and performance improvement plans
  • Provide professional, legally sound advice to line managers and key stakeholders on all HR issues and ensure fair and consistent application of company policies
  • Conduct regular HR reviews to identify risks, trends, and opportunities to prevent costly litigation and improve practices
  • Ensure compliance with employment law, GDPR, Right to Work legislation, and company policies
  • Work collaboratively with Trade Union representatives to ensure effective industrial relations and support positive outcomes

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • CIPD Level 5 is desirable
  • Relevant degree or degree-level education is desirable
  • Previous HR advisory experience, including first-hand involvement in solving complex employment law problems
  • Dealing with Trade Union negotiation is desirable
  • Previous experience of working within the Transport and Logistics Industry would be desirable
