Transport Planner

This is a full-time, permanent role, with working hours of Monday – Friday 2pm-10pm, flexibility needed in peak periods. The role is a full on-site based role at our Newton Health (Manchester) site

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Undertake reactive changes to the traffic plan / schedule in response to operational issues & changes on the day of transporting goods to end users i.e., traffic jams, RTA’s, delays etc.
- Work in partnership with the other Transport Planners, to plan effectively and resolve issues which adversely affect deliveries or collections
- Liaise with all Agency suppliers to ensure a supply of drivers is always available
- Make sure all daily plans always fall within the driver’s hour regulations.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience of working in a transport environment, ideally within Transport Planning
- Knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours and tachograph
- Experience of cost control and working within budget, reporting, and managing cost variances
- Good geographical experience required
