Site Engineer - Mechelen

At GXO Mechelen, we are looking for a Site Engineer who can think proactively with our customer and implement smart logistics solutions.

In this role, you will work in a dynamic, international environment and play a key part in designing efficient processes and delivering accurate cost models.

You will collaborate closely with teams from Business Support, Quality & Control, Operations and other departments.

 

Key responsibilities – Site Engineer

  • Be present on the warehouse floor to map layouts and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and implement innovative systems and solutions to optimize logistics processes.
  • Improve process efficiency and identify automation opportunities.
  • Support implementation and (re)engineering projects, including layout design, procedures, work instructions, and training.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, technical specifications, and operational procedures.

 

Required skills and qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Logistics, or related field or

experience.

  • At least 2 years of experience in warehouse analysis or logistics engineering.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Lean Waste, 5S and experience with complex logistics processes.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Hands-on & Can-do mentality
  • Strong change management & stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent command of MS Excel
  • Familiarity with WMS systems (e.g., Reflex) is a plus.
