Facilities Maintenance Technician

Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician, to join our River Island contract based in Milton Keynes. You’ll be a key part of our on-site Maintenance team, ensuring our distribution centre runs like clockwork. From plumbing and electrical work to keeping our mechanical handling equipment (MHE) in top condition, you’ll be hands-on, proactive, and essential to our daily operations.

 

This is a full time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 08:00 till 16:00. After successful completion of probation, you will also have additional call out hours.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across the site
  • Performing plumbing, small electrical tasks (lighting/wiring), and general site upkeep
  • Supporting physical tasks such as digging footing or relocating equipment
  • Ensuring all mechanical and electrical equipment is maintained and operational
  • Joining the on-call rota (1 week in 3) to respond to urgent out-of-hours issues

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Previous experience within facilities or maintenance is essential
  • RFQ Level 2 qualified, plus 18th Edition wiring
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritise tasks independently
  • Willingness to cover out-of-hours call-outs
