Facilities and Engineering Specialist

We’re looking for a Facilities & Engineering Specialist to join our fabulous team of experts on our Waitrose contract in Milton Keynes. You’ll be Responsible for the control & maintenance of our 2 sites in Milton Keynes from initial install through to day-to-day operation to the highest standard possible, ensuring systems & processes operate effectively, efficiently & safely working collaboratively with the engineering managers, engineers & external engineers / design engineers
You’ll be working, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00, which is great for logistics, but some flexibility will be required so you can support your teams who cover 24/7.
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £49,000 per annum. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Responsible for the adhering to the department resources, ensuring regulatory standards are adhered to, providing an effective service to our operations and customer
- Calibration, testing, repair, adjustment, maintaining & modifying existing systems & replacement of components & assistance in commissioning of systems
- Arrange and assist in the supply of resource for the upkeep and performance of mechanical and electrical equipment as directed by the CMMS management system
- Allocating and carrying out tasks for equipment maintenance, warranty agreement checks and procedures to ensure they are maintained within supplier’s specifications
- Drawing up, organising and carrying out maintenance programmes to cover all aspects of the engineering team on site as per CMMS management system
- Accurate completion of maintenance reports and other operational paperwork auditable by GXO and external sources
- Organisation, task allocation and carrying out project works as and when required by the customer and operations
- Assist with controlling of contractors on site and maintaining the permit to work system
- Ensure all aspects of QSHE standards and HACCP acts are maintained and site rules and regulations are adhered to
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- 5 years’ experience – manufacturing, control systems, maintenance etc
- BS7671 18TH Edition Wiring Regulations
- PLC interrogation certification
- City & guilds / NVQ level 3 apprenticeship in either mechanical or electrical engineering
- Able to work under pressure and tight timelines with a flexible and adaptable approach
- High level of self and team motivation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
