Here at GXO, we’re looking for a confident and proactive HR Advisor to join our dynamic team at River Island, in Milton Keynes. You’ll be a key player in delivering high-quality HR support across the site, managing a busy ER caseload, and leading a small HR team to deliver excellence in service, compliance, and engagement.

 

This is a full-time, permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 09:00 till 17:00. However, some flexibility will be required, this is logistics after all!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Lead and resolve complex ER cases with fairness and consistency
  • Manage and develop a team of HR Admins and Coordinators (including payroll)
  • Champion employee engagement, wellbeing, and site culture initiatives
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning
  • Coach managers on policy, performance, and capability issues
  • Maintain accurate HR records and deliver insightful people data reports
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and systems

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Strong proven experience within a generalist HR role
  • Strong ER and payroll experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and organisational skills
  • Experience using HR systems and Time & Attendance platforms
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or willing to work towards)
