Regional General Manager

Do you have strong multi‑site operational leadership experience within a large‑scale 3PL environment? Are you a confident and credible leader, equally comfortable driving warehouse performance and transport operations? Are you ready to take the next step and truly shape how an operation performs?

Here at GXO Logistics, we are looking for a Regional General Manager to lead a complex, customer‑facing operation across multiple UK sites. With accountability for day‑to‑day operational delivery, people leadership, safety, service and financial performance across warehousing and transport, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence across an omnichannel environment, driving consistency, continuous improvement and collaboration across sites, while creating a culture where safety, engagement and performance come first.

This is a full time, permanent, fast paced, hands‑on leadership role within a 24/7 operation. Whilst contracted Monday to Friday, flexibility will be required — no two weeks are the same, this is logistics after all.

Pay, benefits and more:

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £110,000 per annum, you’ll also receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. Your benefits package includes a company car or car allowance of £595 per calendar month, a company sponsored pension scheme, private medical and dental insurance, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You’ll have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more. You’ll also have access to our GXO University which provides you with the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications at a pace that you’re comfortable with. There’s also our continued focus on internal promotions, over 60% last year!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead and deliver safe, compliant and efficient operations across multiple sites
  • Drive a strong behavioural safety culture, ensuring colleague wellbeing is always the priority
  • Own all contract KPIs — including delivery performance, compliance, H&S and cost control
  • Implement operational and commercial plans to support growth and deliver budgeted performance
  • Ensure consistency of processes, systems and best practice across the network
  • Work closely with the customer, attending and producing reporting packs
  • Identify and deliver optimisation, cost‑saving and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support the development, coaching and succession planning of your direct reports
  • Create a culture centred around engagement, accountability and high performance

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven experience leading large, complex, multi-site operation within a fast paced 3PL/logistics environment
  • Confident leadership style with the ability to engage, influence and coach at all levels
  • A track record of delivering safe operations with a behavioural‑based safety focus
  • Commercial acumen and experience managing budgets, KPIs and contract performance
  • Strong customer relationship skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Demonstrable success in change management, operational improvement and optimisation
  • People‑focused, engaging and committed to developing high‑performing teams
