Assistant Finance Manager

Here at GXO, we are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to join our team at GXO head office based in Northampton. You will be a key link between the Finance Manager and Accounts Assistants within the relevant workstreams. You will work across the forefront of several key areas within our Accounting & Controllership Team including but not limited to, Fixed Assets, leases, Intercompany, Fuel Inventory and recharges. Supporting the Finance Manager and the transactional elements of the team will form a large part of the day-to-day function of this role.

 

This is a permanent, full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Providing Support with transactional workflow within Fixed Assets, Leases, Intercompany & Fuel workstreams functions
  • Supporting the preparation of Month End Reconciliations across all workstreams function, including providing commentary and analysis to other departments including FP&A and Procurement
  • Being the first point of contact with the wider business finance teams to address and resolve issues arising with customer related contracts
  • Ensuring SOX controls are adhered to, evidencing compliance on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Supporting Audit tasks pertaining to all the above functions and reporting & Analysis across the various workstreams
  • Provide cover for transactional tasks and preparation of balance sheets reconciliations

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Strong understanding of accounting entries
  • Knowledge of Fixed Assets and related processes
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Working across multiple systems and utilising the skills of other departments
  • Collaborative working with other teams is essential
