Finance Business Partner
Are you a finance leader who thrives in complex, fast‑moving environments? Do you love bringing clarity to numbers and empowering operational decision‑making? Ready to shape a £100m multi‑site portfolio and lead a high‑performing finance team?
Here at GXO, we’re looking for an experienced finance leader to head up our GXO Finance teams across multiple locations, overseeing both Open Book and Closed Book contracts. With a combined turnover of around £100m, you’ll provide strong thought leadership, deliver “best in class” reporting, and partner closely with operational and customer teams to drive meaningful commercial outcomes.
You’ll play a central role in forecasting, budgeting, financial controls, and process optimisation — all while developing a strong, engaged, multi‑site team.
This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary between the range of £80,000 to £95,000 per annum, depending on experience and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a car allowance, discretionary bonus, a company sponsored pension scheme and private medical cover.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead multi‑site Finance Managers, providing clear direction, structure, and development to build a high‑performing, future‑ready team
- Deliver accurate, credible and timely weekly flashes, period reporting, budgets, and forecasts for both GXO and customers
- Drive rigorous balance sheet control across contracts, ensuring compliance with SOX and visibility of risks and opportunities
- Partner with operational leaders on customer reviews, monthly packs, business change, and financial elements of key projects
- Lead financial controls for Gainshare mechanisms, ensuring maximum contractual benefit in partnership with operations
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent), or QBE with strong commercial finance leadership experience
- Proven experience managing finance teams across multiple locations, ideally within distribution, transport, or warehousing
- Strong grasp of Open Book and Closed Book contracts, with excellent reporting and analytical capabilities
- A proactive, “go‑get” attitude, able to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels while driving commercial efficiency
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines, prioritising effectively while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
