First Line Manager

Here at GXO we’re looking for a First Line Manager to join our team in Northampton. You will play a vital role in ensuring colleagues meet, or exceed, their operational requirements within specific contracts. You will also work alongside management to supervise warehouse related processes and associated warehouse functions as required.

 

This is a full-time,12-month Fixed Term Contract, with working hours of 4 on 4 off 6pm – 6am (Nights)

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • To control the combined overall output of each operational shift by co-ordinating the team, operational activities and effective communication between operations/customer services and Stock control by understanding, all key operational processes and procedures.
  • Maintaining “real time” status control of all warehouse related operational activities to ensure the effective flow of goods into, through and out of the warehouse by monitoring the operational team performance of the on shift.
  • Motivating individuals and teams where slippage occurs against expected time lines and milestones and taking preventive action to reduce risks of service failures or re-occurring issues.
  • To plan, manage and adjust staffing levels to meet operational requirements.

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous experience working within a leadership role within a fast paced logistics role
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of Health & Safety regulations
  • Experience of MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel
