HR Advisor

Join us as our HR Advisor, supporting our Transport Network within this hybrid opportunity with travel to operational sites.  

 

This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, between the hours of 08:00 to 17:00).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £34,000 per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Deliver generalist HR support across the contract, building trusted relationships at all levels and advising managers on best‑practice people processes
  • Lead core HR procedures including absence, flexible working, probation, family‑friendly policies, onboarding compliance, and cyclical processes such as salary review, bonus, and succession planning
  • Support employee relations and performance management, including PIPs, capability issues, disciplinary matters, grievances, welfare meetings, and OH referrals
  • Produce accurate HR reporting while identifying opportunities to improve processes, working practices, and overall HR service delivery
  • Provide HR input into business projects such as new contract wins or TUPE, and contribute to manager development through training and coaching on people matters

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Proven HR experience within a logistics environment, with strong employee relations support skills and pragmatic, tailored HR advice
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law, supported by CIPD Level 3 (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Highly organised and proactive, able to manage day‑to‑day HR processes independently with strong initiative and resilience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships quickly and support colleague development
  • Strong IT capability, including confident use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint.  Experience with Oracle (beneficial)
