Occupational Health & QSHE coordinator

Here at GXO, we are looking for the right person to be our Occupational Health & H&S Coordinator to join our central team based in Northampton.

 

You will coordinate the occupational health surveillance programme across the organisation, acting as the central point of contact between QHSE Managers, HR Managers, and the Occupational Health provider. This role ensures consistent implementation, tracking, and reporting of health surveillance activities, supporting compliance and promoting colleague wellbeing including campaign materials.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00 and its hybrid, working 2 to 3 days in our Head Office in Northampton.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Act as the central liaison for occupational health surveillance & drug and alcohol across the business
  • Coordinate scheduling and delivery of surveillance activities in collaboration with QHSE / HR Managers
  • Maintain oversight of surveillance compliance and escalate gaps or risks appropriately
  • Work closely with HR Managers to ensure alignment between health surveillance and individual colleague needs
  • Support HR Support Services & QHSE in managing the relationship with the Occupational Health / Drug and Alcohol service provider by providing operational insight and feedback
  • Produce regular reports and dashboards for senior leadership and compliance purposes
  • Track and monitor actions from audits, inspections, and internal reviews related to occupational health
  • Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and guidance documents
  • Raise purchase orders and manage subscriptions or memberships related to occupational health services

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Experience in logistics, health & safety, or HR administration (preferably in a 3PL or similar environment)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Co-Pilot).
  • IOSH Managing Safely (desirable)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally across sites if required
