Operations Manager

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to join our GXO Direct team at Cygnia DC7 in Northampton. You’ll be responsible for leading the day‑to‑day warehouse operation on shift, ensuring safety, service, compliance, performance and colleague engagement remain at the highest standards.
This is a full‑time, permanent role, working 14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead the warehouse operation during your shift, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient running of all processes
- Build strong working relationships with site leaders, stakeholders and customer teams, promoting a one‑team culture
- Drive a high‑performance environment through coaching, development, planning and effective communication
- Ensure daily SLAs, KPIs and productivity targets are met, taking corrective action where required to maintain service excellence
- Champion Health & Safety, manage resource planning, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure full operational adherence to SOPs
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Strong operational management experience within logistics, supply chain or warehouse environments
- A confident communicator with excellent leadership, stakeholder‑management and team‑engagement skills
- Experience managing change, driving performance and supporting colleague development
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to analyse data and challenge constructively
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt plans quickly and maintain high standards in a dynamic environment
- Flexible, proactive approach and commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
