Our Head of Pensions UK &I is responsible for all aspects of pension provision across GXO's UK and Irish legal entities including leading a team of 5 pension professionals. The role sits within the UK & Ireland Compensation and Benefits team and is split 60% Defined Benefit and 40% Defined Contribution and other group pension matters. Based out of our Central Offices in Northampton this role is integral to developing and deploying engagement programmes, integrating pension provisions following business wins and is the key contact for the Trustees of the GXO Pension Scheme

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Formulate and implement the Company's strategy in relation to the Scheme
- Liaise with Trustees and advisers ensuring the contractual relationship is maintained and operates in line with Trustees expectations. Also manage the Trustee secretarial service.
- Chair the GXO Pension Governance Committee which is responsible for reviewing and monitoring current pension providers
- Monitor and review pension provision to ensure that it remains competitive as part of the overall benefits package and develop communication strategies to raise engagement and promote the benefits of pension saving
- Launch new pension plans in line with requirements of regular contract wins and new business integrations
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Strong background in pension scheme management, with relevant experience of managing both DB and DC, including automatic enrolment compliance
- Relevant professional qualification (legal, actuarial, finance). Pension qualification desirable e.g. APMI
- Experience of working closely with Trustees and leading delivery of Trustee initiatives
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Leading internal pensions engagement and education
- Prior in-house experience desirable
