Do you have extensive project management experience that you would like to put to use in a diverse and dynamic new role? Are you able to bring new ideas and innovation whilst solving complex problems? Do you prioritise learning from every project and sharing that learning to continue developing the approach to projects within the team? If yes, we have the opportunity for you!

Here at GXO we’re currently looking for a Project Manager to join our Retail Business Unit on a National basis. You will deliver change across multiple contracts, whether that be new business wins, change to existing contracts or operations, or at times, the closure of operations.

The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. You’ll work Monday to Friday, however as you’ll be supporting multiple sites and the role is both field and home based, flexibility to working house is essential - this is logistics after all!

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £55,000 per annum, you’ll also receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. Your benefits package includes a company car or car allowance of £425 per calendar month, a company sponsored pension scheme, private medical and dental insurance, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You’ll have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more. You’ll also have access to our GXO University which provides you the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications at a pace that you’re comfortable with. There’s also our continued focus on internal promotions, over 55% last year!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Establish a sound foundation for each project, ensuring that there is a clear understanding from the outset of the mandate, approach, and critical success factors
  • Establish the governance processes that will support the delivery of the project lifecycle including solution design, testing, and commissioning and implementation
  • Support during and after go-live, taking responsibility for ensuring the result is handed over to and accepted by operations
  • Complete a detailed post implementation report and leading a peer review process to share information and opportunities for improvement with the rest of the team

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Experience as a Project Manager within a transport or logistics environment, preferably 3PL
  • A project management qualification, Prince 2, APM PMQ or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills, you’ll be an effective influencer and communicator, able to build relationships both internally and externally
  • A well organised, structured and methodical approach, able to manage multiple projects at times
