Regional QHSE Business Partner

Hear at GXO, we are looking for a Regional Health & Safety Business partner to cover the South/South West of the UK. You will Lead and promote a strong safety culture aligned with our “Road to Zero” strategy. You will drive continuous improvement in quality, health, safety, and environmental practices across multiple sites in the region. You will ensure compliance with legislation and corporate standards through effective implementation and monitoring of QHSSSE policies and procedures. There is approx. 80% travel with this role.
This is a full time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00. However, we do ask for flexibility, as occasional overnight stays and unsociable hours coverage maybe required, this is logistics after all!

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Champion the Road to Zero program and embed programmes to drive improvements and safety culture across sites
- Communicate QHSSE strategies, policies, and updates effectively and maintain accurate reports and records
- Provide expert guidance to ensure legal and corporate compliance
- Support or Lead (as appropriate) incident investigations and liaise with regulatory authorities
- Review investigation reports and provide coaching. Ensure effective learnings are shared across the business and learnings from elsewhere are considered. Ensure effective action closure arising from incidents is in place
- Assist with ISO QHSSE accreditations and new business integrations
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Minimum 5 years in a senior safety management role at site or contract level
- Strong knowledge of QHSE management systems and behavioural safety programs
- A strong working knowledge of safety legislation and incident reporting frameworks
- Experience in warehouse and transport operations; knowledge MHE, LGV and automation safety (desirable)
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Co-Pilot
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) with ongoing CPD
- NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety (desirable)
- Foundation Certificate in Sustainability and Environmental Management (AISEP) or equivalent (desirable)
- Full UK Driver’s Licence with ability to travel by sea, air, rail, and tunnel
- Ability to pass CRB checks and driving assessments
- Fit to work in high-risk environments (food, magnetic fields, confined spaces, at height)
