Regional Transport Manager - South

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a highly driven Regional Transport Manager to take the lead of our transport operations across our NHS Supply Chain DCs in the South region, and you can be based in any of these. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional contractual service, driving efficiency, maintaining compliance, and championing a brilliant culture across multiple sites.

 

In this role, you will own the regional P&L, shape strategic operational planning, and ensure our transport function operates smoothly, safely, and profitably. You’ll work in a fast-paced, evolving supply chain environment – where no two days are the same.

 

This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00. However, flexibility will be required, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £68,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Ensure the effective day-to-day running of transport operations across the region
  • Oversee all legal compliance across the regional transport function
  • Provide strong guidance and direction to Transport Managers across the region
  • Communicate effectively with the Head of Transport and key internal stakeholders
  • Own the regional P&L at both customer and contract level
  • Manage transport costs in line with site budgets

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • National CPC qualification
  • Proven experience managing a busy transport function at regional/multi-site level
  • Strong contract, people, budget, and KPI management skills
  • Experience managing fleets from vans to C = E HGVs
  • Excellent understanding of radial/direct delivery and inter-depot trunking
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of temperature-controlled transport operations
