Senior Engineering Project Manager
Are you a very experienced Engineering Project Manager? Do you have a background in Commercial Construction? Can you manage multiple installations?
Here at GXO, we are looking for a Senior Engineering Project Manager to join our central, Technical Service team. The role will be covering the UK and IE. will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of client side fit out / construction development projects between £200k - £15m+ from inception to completion. This includes feasibility planning, budgeting at concept stage, preparation of tender documents, coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, other stakeholders and end to end project management to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will also be responsible for managing project budgets, schedules, and resources, as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. You will have a strong background in project management, construction, with excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and navigate the complexities of commercial warehouse buildings development.
You’ll be working Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00. We offer flexibility in your work location due to the significant travel involved. While you will need to be on-site for the project, you will also have the option to work from home when not on-site and manage your own schedule.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £65,000.00 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Liaising / working with senior stakeholders across all parts of the business
- Acting as subject-matter expert for technical and engineering project matters across all parts of the business
- Project feasibility planning and budgeting
- Commercial building surveying and compiling condition reports and creation of technical specifications and scoping documents for tendering
- Leading and co-ordinating external consultant engineering teams with end-to-end management of large scale tenders
- Main contractor and subcontractor management and compiling cash flow forecasts, managing project budgets and variations
- Responsible for providing regular updates to internal stakeholders and external customers and advising the business regarding building compliance matters
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proficient AutoCAD design, MS project, MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook) - essential
- Construction / project management experience, preferably in the logistics sector - essential
- Formal construction-based training preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication skills at senior management levels
- Formal H&S – IOSH as a Minimum or NEBOSH general preferred and CDM qualification - essential
- Flexibility to travel the whole of the UK & Ireland with occasional overnight stays away from home
- Experience of surveying commercial buildings for intended purposes and a good understanding of building mechanical and electrical systems
