WMS Engineer

Do you know JDA Dispatcher/DLX like the back of your hand? This could be the role for you! We are looking for a WMS Engineer to work as part of our national IT team, providing application support and consultancy for both third-party packaged solutions and other key legacy applications used to provide functionality or services to our various business units.


This is a permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, typically 09:00 – 17:30, but flexibility is needed - this is logistics after all! Due to the project-based nature of the role, there may be the possibility of some unsociable hours in the evenings and weekends, with weekends being paid as overtime.


You'll be contractually based in either Manchester or Northampton, however due to the national nature of the role, we are happy to consider candidates based across the UK.

What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Configuring applications that are managed centrally at Group level (this will involve asking relevant questions of the operation and our customers to determine the way the system should be configured. Plan and carry out the data set up and then test to make sure it works correctly)
  • Testing newly developed IT Business Systems to ensure readiness for implementation, recording results of tests in a logical manner and providing clear feedback to developers on any software faults
  • Training site super-users on the new system, identify training requirements for the new site and put together training programme, prepare training notes and user documentation and then make a record of training carried out
  • Act as an IT coordinator on site at go live, giving guidance on system use to new operators, monitoring success of new processes and logging and prioritising any IT issues that arise


What you need to succeed at GXO:


  • Highly proficient in JDA/DLX/Blue Yonder to superuser level as a minimum
  • SQL and PL/SQL experience is beneficial
  • Experience in configuration, testing and documentation
  • A customer-focused approach
