Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for WMS Lead Engineers to join the UK Supply Chain IT WMS team to manage multiple projects and a pool of WMS Engineers. You will design, develop and configure business-critical Warehouse Management solutions, using leading-edge technologies in WMS automation, robotics and hardware. You will be part of the well-respected WMS Team, delivering project lifecycle implementations, application support and consultancy for all of our Business Units and their customers.

 

Being based out of either Manchester or Northampton, this is a full time, permanent role, typically working 0900 – 1730 but flexibility is needed! There may be unsociable hours in the evenings and weekends especially around “Go Live” periods, but we do offer flexibility to accommodate this (Overtime will be paid for exceptional hours).

What you'll do on a typical day:

 

  • Manage a team of WMS Engineers in their daily activities, so proven Team Management skills essential
  • Work closely with your WMS Team peers and managers to mentor, develop and grow our team and be a strong Team player in doing so
  • Be a key part of the project lifecycle from design through to configuration, testing and ultimately the delivery of complex projects
  • Ability to write clear and detailed documentation of projects to educate and effect handover to our IT support teams
  • Actively develop bespoke requirements, including Triggers, Procedures and Functions
  • Work closely with all other IT Teams, including PMO, Integration, Application Support, Oracle DBAs, Networking & EUC
  • With the Integration Team, build complex interface messages to/from our customers and 3rd Party supplier systems
  • Training site super-users on the new system, identify training requirements for the new site and put together training programme, prepare training notes and user documentation and then make a record of training carried out
  • Act as an IT Lead on site at go live, giving guidance on system use to new operators, monitoring success of new processes and logging and prioritising any IT issues that arise

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Highly proficient in Blue Yonder Dispatcher/DLX to consultant level
  • PL/SQL experience essential and being highly competent with Oracle SQL is assumed well within your skillset
  • Linux knowledge and ability to write shell scripts would be desirable
  • A proven ability to deliver complex reporting using latest BI Tools and ability to write complex reports using the Dispatcher standard product, Jaspersoft iReports
