Transport Coordinator

We’re looking for a motivated Transport Coordinator to join our supportive team at Bedworth. You’ll work closely with our permanent drivers to maintain a safe, efficient and well-organised operation.

 

This is a unique opportunity for anyone looking to build hands-on experience in Transport. The role also involves providing holiday cover for the Transport Supervisor, giving you valuable exposure to supervisory responsibilities — ideal for anyone aiming to progress into leadership in the future.

 

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, covering any 5 out of 7 shifts between 10:00 and 18:00. Occasionally, you will be required to cover Superusers during holiday periods. This may include 12-hour day or night shifts (day: 06:30–18:30, night: 18:30–06:30).

 What you will do on a typical day:

 

  • Communicate effectively across departments and with external customers – ensuring smooth operations and strong relationships
  • Investigate and resolve transport-related queries and operational issues – acting as the go-to problem solver
  • Allocate daily workloads, manage staffing levels and monitor performance – keeping everything on track
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements – safeguarding standards
  • Act as deputy for Transport Supervisors when required – stepping up and gaining leadership experience

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with drivers, colleagues and external partners
  • Flexibility to work both day and night shifts
  • Strong organisational skills, with a proactive approach and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive, team-focused attitude, with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience within transport or logistics is beneficial but not essential — full training will be provided
