What you do on a typical day
- Ensuring daily distribution activities are executed and accountable for performance shortfalls – developing corrective action plans when performance falls below target
- Managing performance continually; develops associates by providing training and coaching
- Supervising and developing staff and otherwise carriying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Assigning duties and monitoring work completion for accuracy
- Working with Operation Manager to define requirements for operations and ensure that the implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed these requirements as well as customer expectations
- Focusing on LEAN techniques, quality management processes, and cost control methodologies within the operations to achieve company goals & profit levels; continued business growth; and long-term relationships with customers
- Maintaining a safe work environment and fostering a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required
- Being responsible for achieving customer metrics
- Implementing and coaching Lean Warehousing System and processes
- Leading (daily) start-up activities with cross functional teams
- Monitoring and adjusting personnel scheduling to support all shifts, plan and organize staff workload
- Maintaining daily- and week reports, documentation of processes that are followed by the department
- Consciously dealing with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water, and fuel consumption
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, e.g. in logistics, engineering, operations management, supply chain management, business administration or equivalent experience
- Minimum Required Experience: 1+ years of Operations experience in a similar role
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in Dutch and English
