Operations Manager

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a motivated Operations Manager to join our BAE Systems site based in Blackburn. You will be responsible for the effective management of inventory operations, warehouse systems, and associated data, ensuring alignment with customer, contractual, regulatory, health & safety and internal governance standards.
This is a full-time, permanent position. You’ll be working Monday - Friday, 38.75 hours per week (flexible with timings)

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £52,000 per annum. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead, motivate and manage a multi‑skilled team, ensuring high performance, engagement, capability development and succession planning
- Own inventory accuracy across all BAE Air sites, maintaining robust stock controls, audit readiness and adherence to customer and contractual tolerances
- Provide operational oversight of warehouse and inventory systems, including access control, data integrity, reporting, enhancements and user compliance
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, promoting a proactive safety culture through reporting, near misses and safety conversations
- Actively support internal and external audits, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented and sustained
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Significant, demonstrable operational experience in inventory management, warehouse systems and team leadership within a regulated, contract‑led environment
- Proven ability to manage stock accuracy, system governance and compliance in safety‑critical or customer‑audited operations
- Strong people‑management experience, including performance management, training, engagement and continuous improvement delivery
- Sound working knowledge of health & safety, quality and compliance requirements
