As a Director, Procurement you will be a strategic leader responsible for driving procurement, finance performance and operational excellence. You’ll partner with the procurement leadership team and category managers, ensure robust controls, optimized systems, and alignment with enterprise objectives.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Enhance governance, stream processes, and enable data-driven decision-making. Champion ESG integration across procurement operations—embedding sustainability, ethical sourcing, and compliance into core systems and reporting frameworks to support responsible and resilient value delivery.
- Lead and develop a high-performing regional procurement operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Work with the Head of Procurement, supporting the development and execution of the regional procurement strategy and driving improved contribution/efficiency across the team.
- Develop and implement a key procurement tool, including a spend analytics platform that empowers category managers with deeper insights, enabling more strategic decision-making and increased EBITDA contribution.
- Support in the deployment of a centralized contract database to build a robust contract pipeline, improve visibility, and support proactive—not reactive—cost management and risk mitigation
- Review and refine the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process within the regional framework to enhance operational efficiency, reduce cycle times, and strengthen cost control mechanisms.
- Introduce and embed best-in-class tools tailored to specific categories, supporting advanced sourcing strategies, supplier collaboration, and improved value delivery.
- Strengthen procurement governance by embedding controls, standardizing processes, and ensuring alignment with internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements.
- Oversee the development of reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights, track procurement performance, and support continuous improvement. Define and monitor KPIs across global and regional teams contributing to UK&I EBITDA
- Champion ESG initiatives within procurement operations, embedding sustainability, ethical sourcing, and governance into systems, processes, and reporting.
- Collaborate with Finance, IT, Legal, and Operations to align procurement systems and processes, ensuring seamless execution and data integrity.
- Provide leadership on key projects, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving innovation across procurement processes and systems.
- Support the growth of procurement talent through mentoring, training, and capability-building initiatives.
- Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across the procurement function.
What you’ll need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or Finance/Accounting such as CIMA or ACCA
- Significant experience in procurement finance, ideally within a complex organization
- Proven leadership in managing teams and during periods of change.
- Proven experience of excellent stakeholder management
- Deep proficiency in ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and spend analytics tools, with a strong understanding of new technologies like process orchestration.
- Contract Lifecycle & Cost Management - Strong grasp of contract lifecycle management, including how contract databases to support proactive cost control and pipeline visibility.
- Financial Governance & Compliance - Solid knowledge of financial controls, audit requirements, and risk mitigation strategies within procurement operations, ensuring transparency and regulatory alignment.
- Strategic Influence & Problem Solving - Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, resolve complex challenges, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Advanced Financial Analysis & Reporting - Strong capability in financial modelling, cost savings analysis, and performance reporting to support strategic procurement decisions.
- Technology-Driven Mindset - Experience in developing and implementing procurement technology roadmaps, including category-specific tools and P2P optimization initiatives.
- ESG Awareness & Integration - Understanding of ESG principles and their application in procurement systems, reporting, and supplier engagement.
- Agility & Resilience - Highly self-motivated, adaptable, and results-driven, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
