As the Principal Architect, Information Security, you will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the design and development of the security architecture for the organization, with a focus on cloud and AI related technologies. Working as part of the Global Security Office, you will collaborate with project stakeholders, Business Information Security Officers, and other technology departments to review designs and approve security controls. This is a hands-off role requiring a proven track record of designing, implementing, and integrating security solutions in a global infrastructure.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Develop security strategy plans and architecture roadmaps based on sound enterprise architecture practices and latest industry developments
  • Develop and maintain a security architecture process that enables GXO to implement security solutions and capabilities that align with business objectives
  • Frequent interaction with vendors to identify product developments for both existing tooling and potential future tooling
  • Review and analyse system and application enhancements to assure information security is included and assured
  • Review and guide the development of appropriate security standards and technology baselines
  • Work with 3rd parties and internal teams to develop custom automation solutions that support business objectives
  • Consult on multiple projects to recommend security best practices, develop architectures and review and evaluate solutions against relevant risk frameworks and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies (particularly Google)
  • Experience in leveraging and securing LLMs and other AI technology
  • Presentation of complex technical topics clearly and concisely

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 7+ years in Information Security
  • 3+ years in architecture role preferably in global company
  • Domain expertise and technology implementation/integration experience such as: Identity & Access Management, Cloud Security, End point Security, Data Protection, Network Security, Application Security, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Web Application Firewalls etc.
  • Understanding of OT & IoT devices, protections and integrations into an operational environment
  • Experience or strong understanding of AI technologies and related security controls and guardrails
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in security requirements, standards and practices including NIST CSF/800-53, ISO 27001, SOC2, OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, etc.
  • Experience creating an enterprise security architecture that is aligned to business objectives

It’d be great if you also have:

  • IT Degree or similar
  • 10+ years in Information Security
  • CISSP, CISM or other relevant Information Security certification
  • Architecture certifications from a recognized professional body (e.g. TOGAF, SABSA, Google, Microsoft)
  • Complex problem solving and data analysis
  • Attention to detail
  • Has managerial courage to challenge constructively and manage conflict effectively
  • Great relationship building throughout all organizational levels
  • Result focused and driven, being able to always manage conflicting priorities
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of best practice in sector/external marketplace.
