As the Senior Director, Procurement, you will lead the strategic vision and operational excellence of procurement across the Americas and Asia Pacific. You will position procurement as a competitive advantage by driving cost optimization, supplier partnerships, sustainability, and continuous improvement while aligning regional execution with GXO’s global business objectives.

 

40% travel required, primarily within the US.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Develop and execute a forward-thinking regional procurement strategy aligned to business growth, financial performance, and customer satisfaction
  • Partner with executive leadership, including the Chief Operations Officer, to integrate procurement initiatives with enterprise priorities and foster a “One Procurement” culture
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, partnership and continuous improvement, positioning procurement as a strategic asset
  • Lead strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management across critical categories (e.g., temporary labor, facilities, MHE, fuel, packaging, utilities, uniforms, telecoms)
  • Negotiate and oversee high-value supplier contracts, ensuring performance, cost efficiency, and service excellence
  • Champion ESG and sustainability initiatives by embedding responsible sourcing into procurement processes
  • Drive operational excellence through standardized processes, digital procurement tools, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Establish and monitor procurement KPIs, budgets, spend analytics, and category management strategies to optimize EBITDA impact
  • Identify and mitigate procurement and supplier risks to ensure supply chain continuity and resilience
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing regional procurement team within a global, matrixed environment
  • Engage in Best Practices sharing activities across the wider procurement net championing a culture of collaboration

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, procurement, or equivalent related work/military experience
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement leadership experience, ideally within 3PL logistics, supply chain, or other complex, low-margin industries
  • Proven experience in strategic leadership, sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and optimizing spend
  • Demonstrated success leading in a global, matrixed organization
  • Solid understanding of Lean operating models, process transformation, and continuous improvement
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to engage and negotiate effectively at the highest levels
  • Visionary leadership skills to influence, inspire, and collaborate

 

It’d be great if you also have:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in related discipline
  • Professional procurement certification (e.g., MCIPS or equivalent)
  • Experience with digital procurement platforms, data analytics, AI, or automation-enabled sourcing solutions
