We’re out to transform transportation logistics through technology, and our multimillion-dollar commitment to IT underscores its importance to our vision. As an AI Engineer specializing in Generative AI products, you will design, develop, and deploy GenAI-powered applications that enhance supply chain operations. You will work at the intersection of AI research and engineering, transforming large language models and multimodal systems into scalable, production-ready tools that drive automation, decision-making, and customer experience across GXO’s logistics network.
Pay, benefits and more.
We are eager to attract the best, so we offer competitive compensation and a generous benefits package, including full health insurance (medical, dental and vision), 401(k), life insurance, disability and the opportunity to participate in a company incentive plan.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Utilize, produtctize, and fine-tune LLMs and multimodal models | Use frameworks like Hugging Face Transformers, ADK, Copilot Studio
- Integrate GenAI into supply chain tools | Develop APIs and user-facing applications using Python, FastAPI, or similar
- Design and optimize prompts for LLMs | Ensure high-quality outputs for summarization, Q&A, and task automation
- Prepare and curate datasets for GenAI training | Work with structured and unstructured data (e.g., documents, logs, emails)
- Evaluate model performance and safety | Use metrics like BLEU, ROUGE, hallucination rate, and user feedback
- Work with product, operations, and data teams | Translate supply chain needs into GenAI solutions
- Deploy GenAI models and monitor performance | Use tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and MLflow
- Stay current with GenAI advancements | Prototype new capabilities and assess feasibility for logistics use cases
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Physics or another analytics-related field, or equivalent related work or military experience
- 3–5 years in AI/ML engineering or Data Science, with at least 1 year focused on GenAI or NLP applications.
- GenAI Expertise: Experience with LLMs (e.g., GPT, Gemini), prompt engineering and tuning.
- Programming Proficiency: Strong Python skills; familiarity with GenAI libraries (Transformers, LangChain, OpenAI, etc.).
- Application Development: Ability to build APIs and integrate AI into cloud-based products.
It’d be great if you also had:
- Data Handling: Experience with NLP preprocessing, vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone), and embeddings.
- Cloud & MLOps: Familiarity with AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Communication: Ability to explain GenAI concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
