Senior Vice President, Technology Product Solutions

The SVP, IT Product Technology Solutions leads GXO’s transition to a modern, customer‑centric IT Product organization. This leader owns the strategy, operating model, and portfolio governance across three pillars: Technology Product Management, Technology Product Engineering & Deployment, and Automation (AI/Machine Learning Strategy & Solutions).
The role ensures our tech product portfolio is valuable, viable, usable, and feasible—delivering measurable P&L impact, reliability, and speed‑to‑value across regions, while harmonizing global standards with local needs.
The SVP directly manages the Advanced Technology Solutions team and the AI/ML Strategy & Solutions, and partners closely with other members of the ITLT and business.
Candidates must be based on the east coast or central time zones.
This role can not be based on the west coast.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
Key Responsibilities
1) Technology Product Strategy & Portfolio Governance
- Define a multi‑year product strategy and portfolio roadmap spanning Automation, core technology product lines, and enabling platforms.
- Oversee investment cases, stage‑gates, product health metrics, and lifecycle management (launch, scale, upgrade, sunset).
- Implement product‑centric funding and OKR frameworks; partner with Finance/Operations to track ROI, cost‑to‑serve, and value realization.
2) Automation Leadership
- Own the Automation portfolio (software automation, workflow orchestration, interfaces to warehouse automation, analytics‑driven optimization).
- Set enterprise standards for security, resilience, performance, and interoperability; ensure alignment with Cybersecurity, Corporate Systems, and Enterprise Architecture.
- Drive productivity and continuous improvement through reusable components and automation patterns.
3) Product Management Operating Model
- Stand up a modern product operating model in partnership with HR (product lines, roles/rituals, discovery, prioritization, reporting).
- Codify release readiness and adoption playbooks with Sales, Marketing, and Operations; ensure customer‑backed discovery and measurable outcomes.
- Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and data‑driven decisions across product teams.
4) Product Engineering & Deployment
- Oversees engineering standards across platforms/services; ensure architecture integrity, quality, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Oversees the team that builds repeatable deployment capabilities (DevOps/SRE, site readiness, change management, hypercare) prioritizing configuration over customization for global scale.
- Reduce time‑to‑value through industrialized implementation patterns and reusable assets.
5) Cross‑Functional & Regional Collaboration
- Operate as a trusted advisor to key Executive leaders, balance global standards with regional/local requirements.
- Oversee joint planning with Operations for site readiness and change management; ensure smooth hand‑offs and sustained adoption.
- Serve as an executive conduit across CTO staff, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Corporate Systems, Commercial, and Operations.
6) People Leadership & Culture
- Build a high‑performing, diverse leadership bench across Product, Automation, and AI/ML.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and development; foster collaboration and accountability; manage succession in critical roles.
- Role‑model GXO values; drive engagement and retention across critical talent populations.
7) Compliance and Governance
- Ensures compliance with required regulatory environments and GXO policies across IT product & solutions, automation, and AI/ML domains.
- Upholds ethics in AI/ML (fairness, transparency, risk management) and security/privacy standards for data‑enabled products.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- 20+ years in technology product leadership, including enterprise product management and engineering at scale; 5+ years operating at Executive level
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computing or any other related field
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrated success building technology product organizations (roadmaps, OKRs, funding models) and leading multi‑region deployments.
- Proven delivery of Automation integrated with core systems in complex, multi‑site operations.
- Strong executive stakeholder management; comfortable with P&L‑linked outcomes and board‑level communication.
- Experience in logistics/supply‑chain/industrial environments; external thought leadership and partnerships.
- Deep understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and technology integration.
