Operations Manager

Here at GXO, we are looking for a superb Warehouse Operations Manager, to join the team on our S C Johnson contract in Ripley. This is a circa 50 people operation, small but mighty, an effective team delivering an intricate contract where attention to detail and consistent quality are essential. With customer SLAs at the core, the operation relies on precision, accountability and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards. The customer base is varied and growing, requiring the operation to effectively manage both high volumes of smaller accounts to the demands of larger key accounts.  

 

This is a full-time permanent position, with a working schedule of Monday–Friday, 8.30–17.00 although flexibility will be required.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £53,000 and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Build and maintain a collaborative relationship with the customer on site, consulting with logistic, manufacturing, Supply Chain, customer service teams & external storage providers
  • Lead a team ensuring all are fully trained in all aspects of their roles
  • Communicate all aspects of warehouse operation, promotions, targets, errors, and performance measures. Create a weekly customer pack and monthly updates with the teams on performance.
  • Proactively control costs through ongoing planning, evaluation, and execution of effective and efficient operation in line with the customers’ needs and budget
  • Drive CI initiatives and maintain H&S

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Previous warehouse operational management experience
  • Able to interrogate WMS, ideally JDA
  • Commercial acumen and drive to succeed
