PIT Operator - Shift?

1. Summary of Functions
- A PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Operator safely operates material handling equipment to perform various warehouse operations for loading, unloading, storing, and retrieving products and materials.
2. Essential Functions
- Completes a daily pre-shift inspection of each PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) used
- Follows direction and daily work assignments given by the Lead
- Properly utilizes a warehouse management system and maintains appropriate work documents
- Move product within the facility to include loading/unloading of trailers as required; pick product and prepare for transport within the facility; put away product to the proper locations; perform inbound receiving process; move product from staged area into correct trailers
- Properly inspects trailers prior to loading and unloading freight
- Perform inventory checks and validation on stored product, as required. Participates in cycle counting – preparation and counting
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Utilizes cutting tools to remove stretch wrap, banding, and cardboard
- Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality are job requirements
- Will be required to use the following PPE (Including but not limited to: safety vest, retractable blade safety knife, cut resistant gloves, neoprene gloves, face shield)
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and teamwork in meeting goals and objectives.
- Assist other employees in the performance of their assigned duties when necessary
- Other duties as assigned

- Demonstrates an understanding of GXO Logistics – Supply Chain quality policy (POL1490) and environmental policy (POL9855)
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment; adheres to and enforces safe work practices and safety policies

4. Physical Requirements
- Work activities included normal range of motion. May be required to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds. A full range of body motion is required on the job to include frequent sitting, bending, stooping, crouching, lifting, carrying, grasping, pinching, walking, standing, climbing, driving, pushing/pulling, balancing, and reaching
- Fine motor coordination, fine finger dexterity, manual dexterity, eye-hand-foot coordination are required.
- Seeing, listening, hearing, talking, communicating, depth perception, color discrimination, and field vision is also needed.
- Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of legs, feet, arms, hands & fingers, and tools & equipment.
- May be exposed to excessive temperature, noise, dirt/dust, chemicals, propane, traffic, variable light, vibration, and moving equipment.
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time utilizing a computer
5. Education and/or Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 3 months warehouse experience
- Must have previous experience operating a PIT
- Must have previous experience operating a computer and various computer applications
- GXO PIT certification courses required
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems
- Possesses the ability to manage multiple tasks and complete tasks on time. Must possess a strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure documents; understanding of shipping and receiving process documents as they relate to overall company objectives
- Effective communicator with the ability to exchange information between all essential parties while performing functions of the job.
