Then you may be the Team Leader Business Support – Transport Planning we are looking for!

In this role, you will lead the team of Transport Planners, ensuring optimal planning execution, team coordination, and continuous improvement.

 

What you do on a typical day

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Transport Planning team to ensure high‑quality performance and operational accuracy.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and validate work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure optimal scheduling, routing, and resource utilization by supporting and guiding the Transport Planners.
  • Resolve planning irregularities and support the team in problem‑solving.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and customer service within the team.
  • Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities and ensure they are escalated or resolved.
  • Support the implementation of Lean Warehousing and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Ensure team members are trained, cross‑trained, and fully up‑to‑date on processes and procedures.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment while effectively handling employee relations when needed.
  • Work according to GXO Health & Safety standards and contribute to sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Site Management, Finance, QESH, Engineering, HR and operational teams.

 

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Minimum education: Intermediate Vocational Education (MBO) in logistics, supply chain or comparable field.
  • At least 3+ years of operations experience in a similar leadership or planning role.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Experience in or affinity with transport planning, routing, scheduling or fleet utilization.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to understand and interpret operational data.
  • Ability to lead by example with a structured, disciplined and solution‑oriented approach.
  • Capable of working under pressure and handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with LEAN Warehousing or continuous improvement is considered a strong advantage.
