HR & Payroll Admin Lead

Here at GXO, we’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR & Payroll Administration Lead to manage end-to-end payroll processing and HR administration without dynamic logistics environment. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our colleagues are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance and driving operational excellence.

 

You’ll lead a small team, oversee daily HR and payroll operations, and support the full colleague lifecycle – from onboarding to offboarding. This will be based at our Rugby DC, supporting our NHS Supply Chain contract.

 

This is a full-time, permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 09:00 till 17:00. We will consider flexible working options for the right candidate!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £36,000 per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Lead and coach the HR Administrators, fostering engagement and development
  • Manage monthly payroll submissions and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
  • Oversee HR Administration including employee records, policy queries, and reporting
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions
  • Drive continuous improvement processes and service delivery

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • CIPL level 5 qualified or working towards this
  • Previous experience in Payroll and HR transactional leadership
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of time and attendance systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook)
