We’re looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Shunter Driver to keep things moving smoothly across our busy site. If you’re confident behind the wheel, know your way around a yard and thrive in a fast-paced -this could be the role for you!

 

This is a full-time, permanent position, working any 5 out of 7 covering the hours of 14:00–22:00. Some flexibility is needed—after all, logistics is always on the move!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Shunting full and empty trailers between loading bays and designated areas, as directed by the Operations team
  • Ensuring trailers are correctly positioned and safely secured for loading and unloading
  • Coordinating with the Warehouse team to assign the correct trailers to drivers and subcontractors
  • Moving trailers safely around the site while strictly following all health and safety procedures
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and promptly reporting any defects or issues

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • HGV C+E driving license
  • Valid driver CPC and digital tachograph cards
  • No more than six penalty points on your licence (no TT, IN, DD, DR or DG endorsements)
  • Previous shunting experience is desirable
