Transport Planning Clerk
Are you someone who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and making a real impact behind the scenes? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Planning Clerk to join our team, helping to keep our transport operations running smoothly across the UK.
This full-time role offers working hours between 07:00 and 17:00, any 5 days out of 7, giving you flexibility while supporting multiple sites with efficient transport schedules, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll collaborate with depots, hauliers, and internal teams to deliver cost-effective solutions while maintaining high service standards.

We offer a competitive salary of 27,500 per year, depending on experience, for a 37.5-hour working week. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Build and manage daily transport schedules across multiple sites, ensuring cost-efficiency and service targets are met.
- Coordinate with depots and hauliers to plan and execute backhaul and ad-hoc transport movements.
- Monitor and report on haulier performance, investigating service failures and identifying root causes.
- Compile and validate financial data, raise purchase orders, and support timely payment processes.
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners to resolve operational issues and drive continuous improvement.
