Warehouse Automation Engineer

Here at GXO, we are looking for experienced and enthusiastic, Automation Engineer’s. You’ll be joining our dedicated team on our Carlsberg Britvic contract in Rugby. You will be supporting our operation to achieve best optimisation with the smooth running of our automation and equipment. This is a varied opportunity, focusing on communication, investigation and resolution of operational engineering issues, along with proactive approaches.
This is a full time, permanent position, working a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off (2 days 07.00 to 19:00 and 2 nights 19:00 to 07:00).
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of £47,000 to £57,000 per annum (dependent on level of experience), and 23.5 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Manage daily operations and maintenance of automation and machinery, including out-of-hours support, to ensure departmental KPIs are achieved
- Complete maintenance activities across proactive, reactive, and scheduled maintenance programs
- Provide rapid, effective solutions to engineering issues, collaborating with other departments to maintain service quality
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Health & Safety standards, support training and safe systems of work for the engineering team
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation, including project work and efficiency ideas
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Qualification Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or qualifying in HNC, ONC, BTEC or C&G level (electrical and / or mechanical)
- Experienced in site equipment and High Bay Automated Warehousing Automation
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Able to work at 30 metres in height, able to climb vertical ladders complete with safety harness
