Are you ready to be part of one of the world’s most iconic drinks brands? We’re looking for a dedicated and safety-focused Shunter Driver to join our logistics team at the Diageo site in Runcorn.

 

In this crucial role, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers across the site, supporting both production and distribution operations. You’ll play a key part in keeping the supply chain flowing smoothly in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

 

This is a full-time role based on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. You’ll work 182 shifts per year, totalling 2,184 hours annually.

Our site operates 24/7, 363 days a year, so flexibility is key.

Occasionally, you may be asked to cover day shifts when needed.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Shunting trailers across the site, including keg loading, small pack end-of-line and between the Diageo packaging plant and the Kammac site
  • Coupling and uncoupling trailers using Terberg shunt units
  • Supporting production operations by shunting Diageo tankers and trailers for glass and cans
  • Maintaining trailer supply for keg and THT operations in line with operational needs 
  • Completing trailer checks, including keg counts, trailer census at shift start and configuration sheets to ensure accuracy before dispatch

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • HGV C+E driving license
  • Valid driver CPC and digital tachograph cards
  • No more than six penalty points on your licence (no TT, IN, DD, DR or DG endorsements)
  • Previous shunting experience is desirable
