Are you a highly experienced Business Unit Controller, share your expertise!

 

You will be a Finance lead covering 5 main locations (forming a Business Unit), leading a team of 6 sites controllers, based on our site in Amsterdam

 

  • For this role you must be able to drive, due to sites in Amsterdam, Veenendaal, Hilversum, Lelystad and Bleiwsijk
  • Ideally from a warehousing industry/contracts logistics – Logistics/Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Food production or Retail
  • Fluent in English
  • Monday to Friday, standard office hours. Hybrid working applies, 3 days office, 2 days home
  • Previous experience of leading a team is a MUST

 

 

What you do on a typical day as a Business Unit Controller

  • Reporting into the Director of Business Control (and indirectly to Business unit Director) you will lead a team of 6 Site controllers
  • Part of management team of the Business Unit
  • Finance lead for >€200m annual revenue
  • Ability to monitor and report financials and operational performances
  • Measure and communicate results on key levers effectively within the business unit
  • Align and build partnerships across functional areas to raise awareness of financial performance and promote communication
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes to influence stakeholders
  • Early identification of operational opportunities and make recommendations
  • Investigate variations and effect on operations
  • Risk management
  • Profit improvement plans

 

 

What you need to succeed at GXO as a Business Unit Controller

  • Ability to influence stakeholders and negotiation
  • Degree (Master’s / Bachelors), preferably in economics or similar
  • Ideally from a warehousing industry – Logistics/Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Food production or Retail
  • A demonstrable track record gained in a business control managerial environment/role
  • Detail oriented with superior analytical skills
  • Familiarity with financial principles and concepts
  • Utilisation of data through various BI systems
  • Ability to manage a team – guiding and supporting
  • Representative attitude, and ability to have external contacts with customers and/or suppliers
  • Fluent in English
