Facility Project Manager - Amsterdam

We are looking for an experienced Facility Project Manager for site in Amsterdam. You will be required to travel to other sites within The Netherlands when required.

Dutch permits knowledge includes planning, managing, and executing facility projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with local regulations and permits.

Key responsibilities are developing project plans, managing budgets and schedules, coordinating with stakeholders like authorities and contractors, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Essential skills include strong project management, financial oversight, and excellent communication, both written and spoken, in Dutch and English.

 

Key responsibilities – Facilities Project Manager

  • Project lifecycle management: Oversee all phases of facility projects, including planning, design, execution, and closeout.
  • Budget and cost control: Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures, change orders, and forecasting costs.
  • Schedule development: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met.
  • Permitting and compliance: Ensure projects comply with all Dutch regulations, permits, and administrative requirements. This includes managing the permit request process with relevant authorities.
  • Stakeholder management: Act as a central point of contact for all stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, architects, contractors, and authorities.
  • Risk management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Contract and vendor management: Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and service providers, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.

 

Required skills and qualifications

  • Project management expertise: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Dutch legal and permit knowledge: In-depth understanding of Dutch building codes, permits, and administrative procedures related to facility projects.
  • Financial acumen: Experience in budget management and cost control
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English.
  • Technical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyse technical requirements, interpret contracts, and solve problems creatively.
  • Educational background: Bachelor's degree, preferably in a relevant field such as engineering, architecture, or construction management.
  • Experience: Experience in project management, with a strong track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience with real estate or facility-related projects is a plus.
  • Minimum Required Experience: 5 – 7 years of experience in a similar role.
