Senior Assistant Finance Manager

Here at GXO logistics, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Assistant Finance Manager to join our M&S team in Thorncliffe, Sheffield. The primary focus of this role will be to produce timely and accurate weekly and period reporting with input into the budgeting and forecasting exercises across the M&S account. You will deliver “best in class” clear credible reporting on well understood results to both GXO and our customer. The data produced will be used to shape and influence operational direction with key stakeholders in GXO and M&S.
This role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis, the hours of work are 37.5 Monday to Friday, between the hours of 08:00 - 17:00, to suit your current commitments.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Own financial and operational reporting, including P&L statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll cost tracking
- Drive process improvement, implementing and reviewing procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Build strong relationships across warehouse operations to support collaborative success
- Support strategic planning, including budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure evaluations
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement, challenging the status quo and supporting operational excellence
- Ensure full compliance with legal, ethical, environmental, and health & safety standards across all responsibilities
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Professional qualification or progression: CIMA/ACCA studier or AAT qualified/finalist, with proven experience in a similar finance role
- Commercial awareness: Comfortable working with open/closed book contracts and understanding P&L performance
- Strong relationship builder: Able to engage confidently with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Proactive and organised: Takes ownership of processes, with a structured and tenacious approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communicator: Clear, confident, and adaptable in both written and verbal communication, with a flexible approach to work
