Planning Manager
Are you an experienced Warehouse Planner or Operator? Do you consider yourself an expert on how Warehouse operations work and how to drive change?
Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Planning Manager to join our team in Sherburn in Elmet, supporting our customer Sainsbury’s. You will demonstrate a leadership approach that promotes an inclusive culture, leading to high levels of trust which drives a high performing team whilst also meeting legal, KPI and budgetary targets. You will also be able to support the Operations Manager and site at senior leadership level.
This is a full-time, permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 17:00, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Be an integral part of the senior leadership structure on site, engaging with operations and customer teams in a proactive way
- Plan and ensure we have sufficient capacity to meet the forecasted demand and delivery of the expected service levels, with the right number of people at the right time in accordance with our budgetary financial targets and KPI’s
- Lead and manage the planning team to meet the team, site and business objectives
- Manage both internal and external key relationships, delivering forecasts, planning models and future requirements
- Fully understand customer and company’s requirements & priorities to incorporate them in all planning tools, activities, and projects
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous planning experience in a fast-moving, warehouse planning capacity
- Strong IT skills, particularly utilisation of Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Office to an advanced level
- Manage individual workload efficiently and effectively, with the ability to work accurately under pressure
- Be customer focused, operationally astute and experienced in achieving objectives
